July 16th, 2026. Werewolf Ride. Berkeley Heights Fireworks Edition.

It’s that time of year again. If you haven’t  had your fill of fireworks this year, you should join me for a ride to see the best!

We will be taking a bike ride to the Berkeley Heights Firework. Let’s meet up at the Morristown Green fountain on Thursday , July 16th at 7:15 with kickstands up at 7:30pm.  The planned route will go through some very nice back roads of the Great Swamp (13 miles one way).

On arrival, we will WALK OUR BIKES together as a group and pay the admission together at the main entry gate.  $15/person cash at gate (you can order online but be sure you pay for July 16th) I always pay cash at the gate. 

We will arrive at approximately 8:30pm, which gives us plenty of time to chow down on some greasy carnival food, visit the beer tent for a pint or two, and even take a ride on the tilt-a-whirl. Fireworks start at 10pm and last for 30-45 minutes.

On the ride back, we will have the Swamp roads all to ourselves.  Expect to finish at the Green around 12:00am.

I’m not promoting this, but when we return to the Green, some of the wild wolves have been known to take a dip in the fountain to cool off.

Even though it’s summer, I think this is the coolest ride of the year, so don’t miss it.

Bring lights and let’s ride safely.   Renegade cycling is frowned upon!

Ride Recap: Only 4 of us showed up on this hazy smokey evening. The Canadian wildfires were making it difficult to be outdoors so we took it pretty easy. We were forced to lock our bikes outside of the gate. I don’t like leaving the bikes out of site but police were there keeping an eye on things. The beer tent ran out of the beers I liked so we settled on what was left. Fireworks are always a treat (even with an unusually long pause before the finale) We also ran into a lifetime member Andrew and talked about some old rides. This is also lifetime member T’s last ride for a while since he will be moving to Montana. Good luck to T and hope you enjoy some great riding out there. As usual, we had the Great Swamp roads to ourselves and enjoyed a cool ride home. No fountain required to cool us off. Until the next one. Keeping it rubber side down. Ahwoooooooo!
