Ready to earn your beer? Meet me at the Denville clock tower at 6:30 PM on Thursday, May 14th for a strenuous, hilly exploration ride—this one’s built to test your legs.
The Route: ~19 miles, ~1,200 feet of elevation gain
We’re tackling serious hills through some beautiful terrain: Denville → Rockaway Boro → White Meadow Lake’s climbs → Jonathan’s Woods → a loop around Cedar Lake → finish strong at Diamond Spring Brewing Company for well-deserved pints.
This isn’t a casual cruise. Expect steep grades, variable terrain, and the kind of ride that’ll remind you why you train. But the payoff? Great company, scenic views, and that perfect post-ride beer. Bring lights and your favorite snack.

Two wolves braved wind and light rain that quickly stopped five minutes into the ride. We carved new paths to different areas of Denville, Rockaway Borough, and into Rockaway Township. We visited spots that Brian has not been to in decades. The hills were steep, which means the down hills were wild. Johnathan’s Woods have once again proven to be an absolute gem. We hit a dead end in Denville and spoke with a boy and a man who seemed straight out of the movie Deliverance—we quickly left. Overall a successful ride with a handful of new and old interesting sights.
