I just found out this months full moon is somewhat special. Apparently its the the last “extreme” full moon until 2042 and will be 8% larger in diameter and 16% brighter. I guess that’s a good enough reason to celebrate with a nice bike ride.
We’ll hit an old route that will display the moon in all it’s glory.
- When & Where: Thursday, December 4th, 6:30pm at the fountain on the Morristown Green
- Temperature: Expect a cold evening in the high 20s. Bring your gloves and lights.
- Distance: 17 miles (about 1.75 hours). No-drop pace — everyone rides together.
- Terrain: Quiet roads, cut throughs, gravel roads, and minimal major roads.
- Mid-ride pit stop for refreshments and to warm up at Autodiactic.
- Random snacks to share are always welcome.
- Check here for any updates! Rain will cancel event.
Also, don’t forget about the Holiday Light Ride happening on Saturday December 6th! It’s always a great ride.
Ride recap
It was cold, windy, but certainly worth it. Bar mitts were a must. The moon over Greystone did not disapoint, nor did the food and drink at Autodidactic.

I can’t make it for this ride. Have fun and stay warm.
