Stephens State Park Bike Camping!!! April 5-6, 2025. ***Wet cold weather, Rescheduled*** New dates May 31  – June 1

Pack up your panniers, batten down your baskets, stuff your bikepacking™bags. Its time to look forward to camping at – Stephens State Park in Hackettstown. We got the best campsite available. Meet at Denville clocktower, ready to roll at 3:00 on a great 25 mile mixed terrain ride. It has been a long time since we have ridden this route through Rockaway, Wharton, Ledgewood, Landing, Netcong. It’s a nice mix of quiet roads, a couple of unpaved cut thru’s, a gravel road and some Morris Canal towpath action. A 2 mile chunk of Rt. 46 is necessary but not too bad. Heavy climbs only at the beginning of the ride. Slow & steady pace, no drop ride. There will be a snack stop at Leggo my Bagel in Kenvil. This event is free but bring a few dollars to help pay for the campsite. Excellent options for food in Hackettstown which we will probably hit up after we set camp. We are a group of friends!…No registrations, no insurance, no services are provided, self supported. Plan on riding to the start or meeting along the way. Parking a car overnight is tough near downtown Denville though the police will probably allow you to park in their municipal lot nearby.   NJ Transit trains to Denville station are available. We just got back from a great trip.  Ma Nature finally allowed us some fine weather and we excitedly made the most of it.  Fun vibes everywhere we went!
