November 9th, 2024. Bicycle/Beer Ride.

This year will be the 14th year of the Bicycle/Beer Ride.

Let’s meet up at the Denville clock tower at noon and plan on starting at 12:15pm sharp.

Our route will take us through the Rockaway Valley where we might get lucky and see some llamas.  Fayson lakes is also a nice treat with beautiful views of fall foliage reflecting off the Butler reservoir.

The destination will be the High Point Brewery (14 miles one way). We’ll enjoy samples of their seasonal Winter Wheat beer. The brewery hours are 2-5.

After we sample and then load up with beer (I’m talking about loading up the panniers ;), we’ll cycle back with more beautiful views of the Boonton Reservoirs and Pyramid Mountain.

This will be a casual pace and a no drop ride. I will offer some challenges to anybody who wants a workout.

They do not sell food but in the past there have been food vendors. Also, there is a main street in town where you can most likely find something to munch on.  Maybe bring some snacks to keep you fueled.

This is an open event, so please share it with anybody that might be interested.

Bring lights and let’s ride.

Birdman.

Here’s a clip from the first Bicycle/Beer Ride in 2011.

Ride Recap: This ride seems to get better every year. We had perfect weather and the views were grand. 11 of us worked up a quite a thirst. It started to get chilly in the beer garden so it was time to warm up with the climb out of Butler. We tried a few new route options that seem to be to everyone’s liking. Here are some pics.
