Pack up your panniers, batten down your baskets, stuff your bikepacking™ bags. It’s a long winter and it’s nice to plan our next bike camping trip and look forward to the awesome camping at – Spruce Run State Park in Clinton. Meet at Denville clocktower, ready to roll at 1pm on a great 40 mile mixed terrain ride. A lot of gravel gliding on well maintained paths through Randolph, a REALLY nice chunk of West Morris Greenway rail trail, nearly the entirety of The Columbia Trail rail trail with the remainder on mostly quiet, scenic, hilly roads. Easyish paced ride along this easy route. We will rendezvous with a group of Hackettstown two wheelers in Long Valley at The Coffee Potter at 4pm. Tons of options for food & refreshments along the way and in town a couple miles from camp. Dinner in High Bridge is really fun, we usually eat at Circa. The food is great and staff is hospitable. This event is free but bring a few dollars to help pay for the campsite. The next morning, I like to jet home about 8:30am with a couple quick stops at quickie marts. Others will have a more relaxed approach, brewing camp coffee, perhaps cooking, leaving later and stopping for a bite… the choice is yours. No registrations, no insurance, no services are provided. Self supported. Parking a car overnight is tough… Please plan on riding to the start like most of us do. NJ Transit trains to Denville station are available. Heavy steady rain cancels. Let me know if you’re coming in the comments below or find my email in the contacts. Adventure Awaits!!!

This will be fun! Weather looks great with some whippy winds. Looking forward to riding and hanging with everyone. I rerouted our segment leaving Denville to the first trail in Randolph. The route is about 1.5 miles longer but will have less traffic. Here is the new bit: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/46270899
