May 21st, 2016 Werewolf Weird New Jersey Ride. Clinton Road Edition.

Bill’s Clinton Road Ride.

Lifetime member Bill H. suggested we take a bike ride on Clinton Rd. on the next full moon.

Clinton Road has been in many Weird New Jersey issues and is considered one scary place to ride at night.  Bill may even take us by a castle in the woods.

I’ve biked it many times during the day and loved it.  I’ve never tried it in after the sun sets.

Let’s meet up at the Grasshopper Irish Pub at 7:15 with kickstands up at 7:30.

It’s  located at 2891 NJ-23, Newfoundland, NJ 07435.  I believe there is also a vacant parking lot next to it.

Ride stats:  This ride will be approx. 20 miles.   This is a no drop ride with many stops.

Bring lights and your sense of adventure.

The Birdman

Ride Recap:  6 of us rode all the way to the end of Clinton road and back.  It was a light drizzle which progressed to a steady rain.  We stopped for a short beef jerky break with a nice view of the lake.  It was not too spooky but we all noticed a guy with dreadlocks walking on the side of the road with a bottle.  Maybe a ghost?  We will come back and do an extended version of this ride.  Bill will lead 😉  Here are some pics and video of the ride.  Thanks Dan for some of the pics.  Keeping it tire side down.  Awwwoooooooo!

    1. I drove my truck up this today after work. The road closed, bridge out sign (except for fisherman) is still up at Van Orden Rd. so I drove through to the other end of reservoir where the road was blocked. I parked my truck at the boat launch and walked up to the bridge, which looked like it’s been paved and lined for a while but just not opened for car traffic. I didn’t drive around to the Upper Greenwood Lake side but from Rt. 23 and past the bridge the pavement was really nice, good for road bikes.
