July 16th, 2025 Werewolf Ride. Berkeley Heights Fireworks Edition. Update!

UPDATE: I just found out that there will be no fireworks tonight. Just carnival and drone show. weather looks like it may hold up.

It’s that time of year again. If you haven’t  had your fill of fireworks this year, you should join me for a ride to see the best! I hear this year will have a drone show.

We will be taking a bike ride to the Berkeley Heights Firework. Let’s meet up at the Morristown Green fountain on Wednesday , July 16th at 7:15 with kickstands up at 7:30pm.  The planned route will go through some very nice back roads of the Great Swamp (13 miles one way).

On arrival, we will WALK OUR BIKES together as a group and pay the admission together at the main entry gate.  $15/person cash at gate (you can order online but be sure you pay for July 16th) I always pay cash at the gate. I hear it will be free this year but don’t count on it. Bring cash.

We will arrive at approximately 8:30pm, which gives us plenty of time to chow down on some greasy carnival food, visit the beer tent for a pint or two, and even take a ride on the tilt-a-whirl. Fireworks start at 10pm and last for 30-45 minutes.

On the ride back, we will have the Swamp roads all to ourselves.  Expect to finish at the Green around 12:00am.

I’m not promoting this, but when we return to the Green, some of the wild wolves have been known to take a dip in the fountain to cool off.

Even though it’s summer, I think this is the coolest ride of the year, so don’t miss it.

Bring lights and let’s ride safely.   Renegade cycling is frowned upon!

Ride Recap: 4 of us went out and braved the weather on the hot, humid July night. Taking shelter in the parking garage set the stage for a cool ride into Berkeley Heights. It was great hanging out with cheesesteak, cheese fries, funnel cake, hot dogs and beers. Turns out we were having such a good time that we didn’t realize the drone show was cancelled. Oh well, better luck next year. Ride back was awesome. I don’t think one car passed us in the heart of the Great Swamp. Here are some pics. See ya on the next ride. Ahwoooo!
